Judy is the perfect asset for those who like a flattering fit and a special design. Wrapping the tie ribbons at the waist creates an elegant silhouette as well as a unique look.

Easy to intermediate (depending on the variation).

Judy isn't as tough as she looks. There are no closures involved, keeping the difficulty level low without sacrificing the silhouette's finesse.

The dress and top are loose around the chest and the hips, so there is enough room to pull it on easily over your head. You get the fitted silhouette by wrapping the tie ribbons around the waist.

The lowered inset of the sleeves results in a beautiful short sleeve and a kimono look when you sew on a (half) long sleeve. The neckline has an elegant V-shape, which emphasizes the feminine silhouette even more. The skirt version has a pleasant amount of ease around the hips. The skirt also has no closure, but an elastic waistband for maximum comfort.

Judy can be made into a dress, a top or a skirt. Here are some of her main features:

  • The dress and skirt come in 4 different lengths.

  • The top has a v-neck and you can choose to make a cropped version or a longer version.

  • You are also spoiled for choice for the sleeves: a short grown on sleeve, a half-length or a long sleeve. This way you can use this pattern all year round.

  • There are no closures to be sewn. Both the dress and the top can be pulled on over your head and the skirt has an elastic waistband.

  • The skirt has an interesting 'paper bag' waist, which you can finish with a tie ribbon or without.

  • The topstitched center front seam has a slit which is a real eye-catcher!

    Fabric
You can use both woven and knitted fabrics. Drapey fabrics are preferred to get a nice wrap effect. Choose thin fabrics for a summer version, or fabrics with a bit more heaviness and warmth for the winter. Avoid thick and stiff fabrics, as they can create bulk when wrapped where you don't want it.

WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND WASHING YOUR FABRIC BEFORE CUTTING.
