This hand block print natural dyed cotton fabric is carefully crafted by master artisan Jabbar Khatri from Kutch, Gujarat.

This ancient craft is believed to be over 4,500 years old with ajrakh artisans originally migrating from Sindh to the kutch region of Gujarat and Barmer in Rajasthan. Ajrakh is also the traditional attire of the Maldhari pastoral community of Bhuj. The process is intricate and time-consuming, involving multiple stages where each layer of colour is printed only after a resting period, it beautifully reflects rich cultural artistry and is ideal for making outfits or home decor items.

Each piece is hand block printed and dyed using natural colors over a slow process of 15–20 days. As a result, you may notice slight variations in color mild pigment smudges or irregular dye patterns, these are not defects. They’re gentle marks of authenticity, proudly bearing the touch of human hands, heritage and nature’s own palette. Wear them like a signature because no two pieces are ever alike.

Fabric Care

Gentle hand wash separately in cold water with mild/liquid detergents, excess natural colors may bleed when washed for the first time. Avoid soaking for too long.

This fabric is not pre-washed. Minor color bleed may first 1–2 washes, It is recommended to soak in salt water before stitching.
