This 9.7 oz medium weight raw stretch denim is ideal for creating jeans, trousers, jackets and skirts.
The fabric is raw and not pre-washed, so we recommend washing before use. After the first wash, the color will deepen slightly, and the fabric will soften beautifully, enhancing both its drape and comfort.
Whether you're sewing everyday essentials or refined casual wear, this denim is a reliable, classic choice.
Composition 98% Cotton, 2% Elastane
Fabric width 120 cm
Fabric weight 9.7oz (325 g/m2)
Certification
Certified according to OEKOTEX standard 100
Wash & Care
We recommend to wash the fabric before use.
The washing machine can be a cramped space for raw denim fabric like this. Creasing marks and white folds are common damages on denim from a spin in the drum.
Our best advice is actually to NOT wash denim in the washing machine, but to wash only by soaking it in water for 30 mins. with a mild detergent, and then rinse 2-3 times before you hang it to dry (don’t wring it!).
IF you decide to wash denim in the washing machine:
- Cutting the fabric into smaller pieces before washing it, will help to prevent creasing marks and white folds.
- Sink the fabric into water and allow it to soak, so it’s wet when you put it in the machine.
- Choose a setting with very low, or no spin cycle.
- Don’t leave it in the machine when done, but take it out right away, and hang to dry. Do not wring it and do not tumble dry.
If creasing marks appear; ironing when the fabric is
still damp will help.
Please note that Indigo dyed raw denims will loose some
color when washed, so wash separately first times due to excess dye.
Wash by 30-40 dg with low spinning (4-800 rpm).
Take the fabric/garment out of the machine immediately and dry flat without creases.
Tumble dryer is not recommended.
