Fabric Choice
Knit fabrics with some elasticity, such as ribbed cotton or viscose jersey, cut-and-sew knits, or Milano stretch knits, are suitable. Avoid very lightweight knit fabrics, like those used for t-shirts. Knit fabrics can be sewn together using either a sewing machine or an overlocker. Choose a special jersey needle with a rounded point that won't damage the fabric and will make sewing easier. Select the stretch stitch on your machine. On an overlocker, adjust the differential feed to create elasticity in the seam.
