Elbe Textiles - Duplantier Dress Paper Pattern
The Duplantier Dress is a babydoll style dress with two different sleeve options.
Both views feature a gathered skirt with in-seam pockets. The bust
seam panelling on the bodice allows for customisation with trim detailing or different fabrics. A subtle V shaped skirt cuts across the lower bust, dropping down to the waist at the side seams. Ties are set into the side seams to cinch the back of the dress in.
Available in a B cup and a combined C/D cup, in sizes A to N.
Suitable for intermediate sewers and above.
SUGGESTED FABRICS:
Medium weight woven fabrics with good drape. Tencel, rayon, washed linen, silk noil, soft cottons etc.
Lining - Light to medium weight woven fabric.
Please note: If you’re using a patterned fabric with a repeat that you’d like to match, you may need more fabric than what is suggested above. Use your discretion.
Ensure your fabric is washed and pressed before cutting.
NOTIONS:
- Matching thread to your fabric.
- Optional : Decorative trim can be sewn in the bust seams and neckline to
emphasise the design lines.
FABRIC CONSUMPTION:
See chart in images
SIZES AVAILABLE:
A to N (see size chart in images)
FITTING NOTES:
This pattern has been drafted for a height of 5’7 and will finish at mid thigh.
The bodice has two cup size options - a B cup and a C/D cup.
The panels around the bust are gently shaped and cut away on an angle, across the bust (not underneath the whole bust). This design is semi fitted up top and flowy from the bust down.
I recommend making a toile first to work out any fitting alterations you may need, before cutting into your chosen fabric.
